Cautiously optimistic.

Dragon’s Dogma launched in May of 2012 and was generally well received (and the expansion/remaster Dragon’s Dogma Dark Arisen even more so) by everyone, seemingly, except for me. Maybe I didn’t give it enough of a chance, maybe it didn’t quite click in the time I gave it or, as I suspect, as I got it shortly before I got my Playstation 4 I didn’t fancy plugging my Playstation 3 back in. Lazy I know.

Fans have been crying out for a sequel to the game since launch; with many speculating a PC release might happen, or maybe even an HD remaster or remix for this current generation of consoles. They might happen but for now fans will have to make do with Dragon’s Dogma Online.

There isn’t a huge amount of information available just yet; but the game has gone from announced to potential release much faster than Capcom’s other free to play title Deep Down, which I’m a little disappointed about.

The video in the header of this post and shows off some typical RPG melodrama; emotions, dragons, monsters and some stunning looking landscape. Dragon’s Dogma Online is slated to release on Playstation 3, Playstation 4 and PC and the game is clearly showing its Playstation 3 roots, which will no doubt be a little bit disappointing for those on high powered PCs and Playstation 4. Still; the promise of more Dragon’s Dogma will be welcome news for many.

The bad news is the game currently has no plans to release in the west. We remain hopeful.
